Attention Hunters
Remember to send in your photos to the Union Hall with a brief description of your hunt.
At the end of hunting season we will put the names of the hunters - who submitted photos - into a draw for some USW prizes (Jackets, t-shirt, ect.)
WOS Project:
We are collecting shampoo and soap for the Women's Resource Centers and Safe Houses in our Communities.
Next time you stay in a hotel that provides shampoo and soap that you don't use - would you please put them in a bag and give them to a Sister on your crew, drop them off at the Union Hall, or Gertie Banks in Payroll on 3rd floor - Read more in September's Newsletter

Women's Committee.
WOS "Women of Steel" Committee - Open to all women
The purpose of the Women's Committee is to:
· Help
build solidarity and mutual respect amongst our membership

Encourage our brothers and sisters to work together and help get our Local more
involved in community activities
· Organize
activities for our members and their families
Educating
and encouraging women to take on more active and leadership roles within our
local

We just received Great News on the Vacation Grievance from May 12, Arbitrator Dave McPhillips award came out on May 24, 2011.

Last Paragraph of the award reads as follows:

"The Union's policy grievance in this matter is upheld and a declaration is hereby issued that the vacation entitlement for employees for this year will be pro-rated to account for the loss of 67 days due to the labour strike which occurred between January 30 to April 8, 2011. None of the other declaratory relief sought by the Union is necessary or appropriate in these circumstances. It is so Awarded. Dated this 24th day of May, 2011."

Results of the vote on the second Tentative Agreement are as follows:
Number of Eligible Voters - 689
Number of Ballots Returned - 612
Number if Favour - 359
Number Against - 252
Number Spoiled - 1
RESULTS - 58.7% in favour of the agreement.
